Q: Do I have to have racing experience to join the team?
A: No. Many of our members had never run through gates before joining the WSU Ski Team. In order to be competitive however, immense skiing experience is highly recommended.
Q: How much does it cost to join?
A: Dues are $75.00 to join. This covers a seasons pass to Silver Mt. in Kellog Idaho as well as the whole week of training camp (excluding food). If you qualify to travel, in order to obtain a USSA membership which allows you to be entered in to races you will need to pay an additional $125.00 to the USSA as well as $25.00 to the PNSA (Pacific Northwest Ski Association) which is the region we ski in.
Q: Do I need to have my own equipment?
A: Yes. The team has accumulated some extra guards and helmets over the years, however skis, poles and boots are up to each athlete. We do have ways of finding affordable gear if needed.
